# Networking evening

> Meet the other directors the night before your Forum date. It is for ticket holders: see the four Sundays, your hosts and how to opt in.

Web page: https://ecec.org.au/networking

The evening is a genuine chance to build relationships with people who do the job you do. You meet other directors, share what works and keep in touch through the year. It runs on the Sunday before each of the four Mondays. You opt in for each person when you book. Your invitation is included in your ticket.

## What you get from the evening

- **Time to talk.** A relaxed evening gives you time to talk about your service, your committee and your educators.
- **Someone who has been there.** You may meet someone who has already faced the problem on your desk.
- **Your hosts, before the day.** Kristian Inglis and Catherine Chen host all four evenings. Say hello, or bring a question for Monday.

## Coming along

### Opt in when you book

Each person on the booking form has their own tick box for the evening. Tick it for everyone who is coming. Any food or access needs you give when you book apply to the evening too.

### Ticket holders only

The evening is for Forum ticket holders only, with no partners or guests. Everyone in the room is there for the Forum and knows the job you do.

### Food and drinks

You order and pay for your own food and drinks on the night. Your Forum ticket does not include them.

### Already booked?

Send us your booking reference on the [contact page](https://ecec.org.au/contact) to add the evening or change your answer. Your booking reference is on your confirmation email.

## Sunday, Monday and the rest of the year

Running a service can be a lonely job. Many directors carry growing demands without enough support. It helps to talk with people who understand the work.

1. **Sunday:** You meet. Over a drink and something to eat, you get to know some of the people coming on Monday.
2. **Monday:** You work it through. You spend the day on governance, HR, safety and financial management, with some faces you already know.
3. **After Monday:** The ECEC Governance Network keeps it going. Directors can ask to join this closed email list and keep talking all year.
