The room

One function room built over the Georges River, with cathedral ceilings, exposed timber and full-height windows onto the water. It opens onto a wraparound deck where morning tea and lunch are served.

The room seats 60 at round tables of six to eight, so the whole group can see the screen, hear each other and work as a table. In 2026 we grouped tables by service where we could.

  • Screen, projector and a wireless microphone
  • Free Wi-Fi for every guest
  • White linen, notepads, pens and water on every table
  • A venue coordinator and wait staff on hand all day
  • Two people talking on stools by the bar inside the function room, with timber doors and daylight behind them
  • The presenter smiling mid-talk, microphone and notes in hand, with directors at their tables in front
  • Directors listening at a table in the light-filled function room during the 2026 Forum
  • Directors talking at high tables by the windows, with the bay in soft light behind

The river, the bay and the bridge

The club stands on piers over the Georges River at Sans Souci. From the deck you look across to the Captain Cook Bridge and out to Botany Bay.

  • Aerial view of the sailing club from further out on the water, its deck and jetty facing the river
  • Looking straight down on the sailing club roof, its jetty, the sand either side and the car park behind
  • Aerial view of the Captain Cook Bridge crossing the river mouth towards Botany Bay, with the sailing club on the far shore

Street parking was free in 2026. Try these in order.

  1. Free street parking on Riverside Drive, right outside the club. Spaces are limited, so allow ten to fifteen minutes.
  2. Overflow parking on Rocky Point Road, on the east side near the Captain Cook Bridge. It is about a five minute walk along the waterfront path under the bridge.
  3. The St George Motor Boat Club car park at 2 Wellington Street, about a kilometre from the club, is another option if the street is full.

Food and drink on the day

Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea are made in the club kitchen and served on the deck or at your table. Barista coffee comes with morning tea. Tell us your dietary needs when you book and the kitchen looks after them.

The club bistro and bar

The public bistro and bar sit beside the function room with the same river views. Bistro hours are Sunday 12pm to 8:30pm and Monday 12pm to 9pm. The club is open Sunday 10:30am to 10pm and Monday 10:30am to 10:30pm.

Staying on after the day

If your table would like to stay for dinner, the bistro takes bookings online. Groups of 8 or more can choose the shared group-dining menu, published at $69 and $89 a person as at September 2026. A set menu suits groups of 17 to 30. Bookings open six weeks ahead.
